The 2017 Atlanta Comedy Film Festival have named the script for the pilot episode of Ambrosia (adapted from David-Matthew's novel) an official selection.

Baby Cindy (written under Declan Mayfair)


The Los Angeles Film Awards have honored David-Matthew's horror screenplay Baby Cindy (written under Declan Mayfair) with a wonderful award.


David-Matthew's horror screenplay Baby Cindy (written under Declan Mayfair) has been nominated in the category of Best Screenplay Short for the New York Film Awards. The winner will be announced on September 6th.

Boxcar



Kupenda Films have optioned the rights to David-Matthew's award-winning screenplay Boxcar, to be directed by Dutch filmmaker Coen Haver. Production begins later this year.


David-Matthew's short film screenplay 'Boxcar' received the award for Best Short Screenplay at the 2017 New Renaissance Film Festival in Amsterdam. Winners were announced at an awards ceremony on March 5th.

Wonderful news from Sydney, Australia. David-Matthew's screenplay 'Tagged' received the award for Best Screenplay Short there last night. at the Changing Face International Film Festival. This is the first screenwriting award from the land Down Under for David-Matthew.



David-Matthew's award-winning screenplay Boxcar has been named an official selection for the 2017 Rome International Cinefest in Italy, nominated in the category of Best Short Screenplay. The winner will be announced later this month.


David-Matthew was announced the winner of the script competition at the Sunday Shorts Film Festival in London, in recognition of his screenplay Boxcar.


David-Matthew received the award for Best Short Script at the Play Film Festival in Paris, in recognition of his screenplay Boxcar.


David-Matthew's short screenplay Boxcar is a current finalist for Best Short Screenplay at the TeaDance Gay & Lesbian Film Festival in Greenville, North Carolina. The winner will be announced on October 13.

David-Matthew's award-winning screenplay 'Boxcar' is featured as an online exclusive of the literary journal New Plains Review, published by the University of Central Oklahoma.

Bracelets and Boyfriends


David-Matthew's two-woman screenplay Bracelets and Boyfriends (adapted from his one-act play) was named the short screenplay competition winner of the 2017 Rendezvous Film Festival. As a result, the script is being adapted into a film by Flickers Studios, and is being shot on location in Amelia Island, Florida. The film will premiere in September.

Made From Scratch


David-Matthew's feature film screenplay Made From Scratch was recognized by the 2017 Colorado International Film Festival with an Honorable Mention in their screenplay competition.


David-Matthew's feature-length screenplay 'Made From Scratch' was named the 2017 Grand Prize Jury Screenplay Winner by Film Invasion L.A. The award was announced on May 30th.

Number 76


David-Matthew's screenplay Number 76 was an official selection and screenplay competition finalist for the 2017 Windy City International Film Festival.

Scare Me, Kill Me (written under Declan Mayfair)


Scare Me, Kill Me (written under Declan Mayfair) was named a quarter finalist for Best Screenplay in the 2017 Shriekfest Horror Film Festival in Los Angeles.

CLASSES + WORKSHOPS

If you live in the Denver area, David-Matthew will be teaching a Screenwriting course at Red Rocks Community College for the Spring semester (January 22 - May 7). The class will meet once a week, on Monday evenings from 6:00 - 8:45. The unofficial genre emphasis will be horror films. This course also covers writing for television (pilot episodes), script formatting, industry resources, pitchng your ideas, and strategies for getting your work produced. PLAYS


David-Matthew has finished a new one-act play titled Limelight. This 2 woman script explores the defining backstage moment when a successful author makes the life changing decision to stop writing and walk away from her career forever, just moments before she's supposed to make a keynote speech to a sold out crowd.

Check out the song Hard on Myself by Hemming, which inspired the script.

Limelight will be available in early 2018.


David-Matthew's acclaimed new stage play The Truants will be available on November 28th.

POETRY

Are You All Right in There? was presented in a student-directed production by the Junior Theatre Magnet class at Richardson High School in Richardson, Texas. Read about the production here.
