Autumn Update

It's been a long time since I've posted an update. With so much going on, I figured no better time like the present.
Lots and lots of wonderful news to share!
New Job!

I've recently accepted a new teaching position. I'm now on the faculty of the Spalding University brief-residency Master of Fine Arts in Writing Program where I will be mentoring graduate students in playwriting, screenwriting, and writing for children and young adults. This wonderful new opportunity begins in mid-November.

In addition to spending two weeks a year (one week in November, one week in May) on Spalding's campus in Louisville, KY, I will continue to teach humanities and English classes online for Southern Crescent Technical College, where I've been a faculty member for the last two and a half years.

Made From Scratch
I am writing and directing an indie film for and about women titled Made From Scratch.
Here's some info about the film: When the lives of four women merge, each experiences a life-changing moment of truth. Longing for her former wild days as a party-hopping powerful executive, Claudia is secretly strategizing her escape from her dull life as a Southern housewife. Refusing to rely on welfare, Tameka struggles with working two jobs, attending night school, and raising her eight-year-old-son. When she's summoned home by her estranged mother, Victoria suddenly realizes that what's missing in her life is love: a realization prompted by the sudden admission by her female colleague, Danielle, that Victoria is the secret object of her desires. After Sahara accepts a proposal from a man she only knows for three months in order to escape her home life where she's been an emotional crutch for her overly dependent mother, Sahara quickly realizes her marriage is a mistake.
Made From Scratch is being produced by the Pinwheel Entertainment Group, Hoop Earrings Entertainment, and Striking Results Marketing.
Here's an article about one of the stars of the film Lisann Valentin

Each are excerpts from my upcoming collection Monologues That Kick Ass, which will be available exclusively on Kindle on November 1st.

Write Your Heart Out: Online Creative Writing Workshops
I'm instructing new online creative writing workshops. New classes are starting October 15th.
Whether you are new to writing or you've just completed your third novel, we offer a workshop for every writer. WYHO workshops are open to all writers, regardless of their level of experience. All workshops are instructed online through a discussion board, available to participants 24/7. You can complete each week at your own pace. Aside from your creativity, all you need is Internet access. No software is required. Each workshop is divided into sections comprised of a maximum of 5 students. Our small classes provide participants with an individualized focus on their writing. We offer our 5-week workshops eight times a year. We offer our 2-week workshops twelve times a year. We offer workshops in several areas.
Two New Novels!
I have two new novels out!

Ambrosia is available exclusively on Kindle for only $2.99. Cheaper than most cups of coffee and far more entertaining.
On the night of her 30th birthday, Tina Duncan is dumped by her musician boyfriend and left with nothing. When her best friend dares her to accept every date she’s asked out on for the next year, Tina accepts the challenge only to confirm her theory that the perfect man no longer exists. Tina’s life soon becomes one terrible date after another until she accidentally meets Oliver, a beautiful stranger who arrives at her front door to return her purse he’s found in a cab. Before realizing Oliver might be the man to prove her theory wrong – and is indeed the perfect man for her – he slips away and disappears. Convinced she’s lost her one shot at true love, Tina embarks on a city-wide search for a man she hardly knows, but is quickly falling in love with.

The Jetsetters is a rock 'n' love story available in paperback and ebook.
Justin Holt is a lonely barista living in Chicago. He spends his days in college and his evenings working at Clouds, a coffee shop owned by his lesbian boss and best friend, Starsky. When Diego Delgado, the hot Latin guitarist for the rock band The Jetsetters, wanders in for a cup of coffee, a spark is instantly ignited between the two young men. As The Jetsetters skyrocket from obscurity to super stardom, Justin fights with everything he has to make certain his new relationship survives, despite the chaos surrounding them. When the demands of instant fame and an unexpected tragedy take their toll on Diego and threaten his flourishing career, Justin is forced to make a difficult decision.
"...love rarely develops without some obstacles...Diego and Justin encounter more than their share...in this emotionally bittersweet exploration of what true love requires...Excellent storytelling, with relatable fully-developed characters, which is what I have come to expect from this talented author. Five stars."
